I am the thorn in your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway
See now I am the man who yelled out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then I turned away with a smile on my face
With this sin in my heart, tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night I still call out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life
But You love me anyway

During the days after the earthquake that struck the island nation of Haiti not so long ago.

the world reacted with promises and so-called aid, there were fund raising events, charities, food drives, missionaries, countries pledging enormous amounts of  money to rebuild and even a star studded remake of the 80’s classic “We Are The World” although nowhere close to being half as much good as the original… It was the “It” cause for all celebrities at the time. Fast forward to now in places like Port Au Prince very little has changed, In fact you might say nothing has changed .

Until now, the bulldozers are aiming their sights at the tent’s , huts and shanty towns that the impoverished people of Haiti call home.  The little that   these long suffering Haitians have is now targeted for demolition. It would appear as though the very land the people occupy at the moment is up for grabs, in the name of “security” the state is ordering the eviction of ten’s of thousands of people , families that have concerns based on the fact they haven’t been told where they will go or in some instances be moved to.

The question now is… where are all of those celebrities now ?

The ones who took time out of their busy scheduled lives to do a rendition of Michael Jackson’s We Are The World that will forever tarnish the memory of that song and caused the recently deiced singer to spin in his grave.

Where are they now , when attention needs to be brought to so many problems that have happened after and even before the tragedy of the earthquake. Remember how Haiti became a full fledged nation state in the first place, Never forget Haiti is the product of the western hemisphere’s most successful African Bondage Rebellion. An insurrection that enraged and terrified the colonial white power structure at large around the globe. Haiti was a flash point that had to be contained, American slave owners were deeply troubled that what happened there would be repeated on their very own plantations. Haiti was indefinably put on a crippling embargo that stunted the newly liberated nations growth, It was forgotten about and virtually left to die. But it survived and like all nations that pose a threat to the world order that dominates the planet, Haiti’s social, financial and political affairs were manipulated by outside forces. It’s no secret the murderous regime “Papa Doc” and his predecessor “Baby Doc” were U.S. backed, along with any other dictatorship disguised as a democracy that has a foot hold in Haiti.

The time for talk has come to an end. Haiti needs action in the form of actual assistance from the nations that promised help, but never followed through. The people are waiting for what now seems like forever and a day to receive true freedom from the nightmare they have lived since their brave ancestors decided to stand up and bow no more.
